WebORB for PHP update [AMF3PHP :)]

We're entering the final stage of the WebORB for PHP release. If all goes well, the release should be available later today (or some time tomorrow at the latest). WebORB for PHP is going to be a free and open-source project. The most important thing it will offer is the Flex RPC integration (AMF3 support). As a result, WebORB for PHP will appear to Flex Builder developers as an FDS server. Deployed PHP classes would have to be registered as Flex destinations (we plan to automate that part in one of the subsequent releases) Flash Remoting (AMF0) is supported as well. Currently we target only PHP5, but if the demand for PHP4 is big, we'll seriously look into porting the product to that environment as well. Stay tuned for further announcements....

Looking very forward to seeing this product. As a php/flex developer, I often feel neglected, so I'm glad to see someone else building php tools that are meant to work with Flex.

When you say "appear to Flex Builder developers as an FDS", do you mean CRUD methods and/or Push/Polling features?

No, I meant only from the configuration perspective. Functionality-wise, it is going to be only RPC (mx:RemoteObject) for now.

I definitely throw in my vote for PHP4 support. :-)

As a Flex/PHP developer I have a history with an online provider that I am extremely satisfied with. However, that provider is reluctant to move up to PHP5. Only having PHP5 support in WebORB would require us to find a different provider.

Not the very best reason to ask for PHP4 support, but that's our specific situation. :-)

Hey Mark... :)
Do you plan on releasing an rtmp version in the future like you plan on doing with .net?

I'm going to be stuck on PHP v4 for a while now. I would definitely like the v4 support!
