There are several upcoming conferences we will be participating in. Here's a list of events to meet us at and the presentations to attend:
- 360Flex Conference

Harris and I are traveling to the conference and will conduct two sessions: "Building Flex Apps Faster with WebORB" on March 5th and "Flex and .NET" on March 6th. - Spring </ br> Conference
Athens, OH, March 22, 2007
The title of my session is "Data-driven Flex applications in 5 minutes". I will be talking about and demonstrating our new (absolutely fantastic) data management system for Flex client applications. - Flex Maniacs

I will be presenting on the subject of "Flex without Java". The session will focus on Flex integration with .NET, PHP and Ruby on Rails.

Focus on developer productivity. Taking the plumbing out of the equation. It all sounds good. And i firmly believe these messages.
you phrase it very nicely:
The technique has been borrowed from the Ruby on Rails ActiveRecord pattern and elegantly adapted to the ActionScript environment.
What i find less elegant is that you don't plan on providing it in Open Source, or did i misread your intentions?
I always thought the midnight coders business model was to give away the recipe but provide excellent baking forms and cookie baking service (i.e. professional services).
(if you don't know what i am talking about: google => the cathedral and the bazaar)
And thus borrowing from the bazaar (Other open source) for commercial purposes was no problem (for me).
You took from the community, and you give back to the community, plus you make a buck by providing excellent service and add-ons.
I have the feeling you are changing this now, and i personally think (imho) this is less "chique", and thats is putting it mildly.
Finding a way into better putting a good RIA framework such as flex into the MVC and adapting testing patterns to allow for new insights is an exciting time. And you are doing a great job, but this is nagging me:
How is it called when you borrow from someone and don't give back?

Hey Ilya, thanks for the comment. I would not jump the conclusions too quickly. We are just getting started with the new data management. The first release is for WebORB for .NET, but the goal is to provide a uniform support for the framework across the board (for example see this FAQ entry). The .NET implementation of WDMF is based on WebORB for .NET, which is not an open-source technology (but does have a free edition). When we port WDMF to PHP and Ruby, the backend implementation will be available under the same licensing terms as WebORB for PHP and Ruby, so the community will get back 100x more than what was borrowed. (What is it called?...uh, donation? Too bad we cannot write that off...:). Cheers
